Anthony Lumpkin, known artistically as “Lump,” was born and raised in the heart of Dade County. Emerging from the vibrant streets of Miami during the late 1970s—the era that birthed Hip-Hop and the drug trade—Lump’s art tells the story of both the beauty and the brutality of his city. Though raised in a two-parent household, he was not untouched by his surroundings. From graffiti walls to painting portraits of presidents on the halls of Florida A&M University, Lump has painted it all.

His work has reached national audiences, with several pieces featured on MTV Cribs. Hall of Fame NFL player Jason Taylor showcased Lump’s art in his episode, while other notable collectors include retired NFL stars Terrell Owens, Sam Madison, and the late Junior Seau.
In 2019, Lump was honored by the City of Miami Gardens for his powerful breast cancer awareness mural. Since then, his artistry has continued to captivate crowds—featured at Art Basel’s Red Dot/Spectrum Miami, Jazz in the Gardens, and large-scale installations drawing more than 20,000 attendees. His pieces are owned by Grammy Award-winning artists such as Anthony Hamilton and Rick Ross.

Today, Lump has come full circle—opening his own gallery and workshop in Miami Gardens, the community that raised him. “You finish what you started. Life is a cycle, and for me, it all started in Dade.”

Lump will be a featured artist at LOUD Week’s® Opening Night Reception, where his work will stand among some of the most powerful expressions of urban creativity. This prestigious evening will welcome esteemed VIPs, city officials, and distinguished dignitaries as they experience his artistry up close—a true homegrown talent representing Miami’s creative excellence on one of the city’s biggest stages.
